|bag lady|

I recently read about a really interesting project done by FABRICA (www.fabrica.it). The organisation was being established in 1994 by the founder of BENETTON group (http://www.benetton.co.it) Luciano Benetton. The sole purpose of this organisation is to act as a breeding ground for 40 artists each year who devote themselves entirely to creative studies for one year. They've done several projects and they exhibit it all over the world.
The project i read is actually derived from a pretty simple idea. Fabrica sent blank notebooks to participants from across the world and their task is just to fill the pages up with whatever they want, expressing themselves in those blank pages with whatever media. And after the notebook's filled up, they had to send it back to FABRICA.
Amazing things appeared on those pages for sure, all kinds of expressions can be found there in so many languages! FABRICA set an exhibition for the finished pages (it's called the 'COLORS NOTEBOOK' exhibition), and it's very interesting to look at. I adore the idea of collecting a 'notebook' as the media of expression, and im loving the fact that it comes from people all over the world..somehow it symbolizes a very good message, that we might be different people from different countries,
different way of thinking, different tradition, different looking,etc..but the differences is actually an art of its own,it's the element that makes it unique..and it's nothing but beautiful when it's blended together as a unity. I think that's how we should look at the world, no? a beautiful unity of too many different and unique objects..

And to be honest, this one object was the one which really got my attention :
hahhahahahah.....(teteuuuuup masih gak bisa jauh2 dari topik cinta2an...dem)

i hope the "BAG LADY" there means the same as what Erykah Badu had meant for her song. Because then i can't be more agree with her attitude toward that matter...
|The song is about a woman trying to begin anew in a relationship but she has too much emotional "baggage", and can't get close to people. The moral of the song is to "pack light", and have hope for the future|

emotional baggage? somehow it rings too much bells in my head! because of how it reminds me of a friend of mine who said that the most uncomfortable people to be with in europe is when she was in paris..hihihi!

kadang gue terpikir, kenapa orang barat sana lebih mengapresiasi perbedaan lebih dari kita orang timur? apa segitu "sakleknya" orang timur itu berpikir? hum..
